How to Apply

To apply, please follow the instructions below and upload the application package through the online application portal. The portal will be open on February 1. No application fee required.   
 

Required Documents

Item Instruction
  1 Application Form
The application form must be completed and submitted to National Tsing Hua University (NTHU), Taiwan.  There are five main sections, including your personal information, profile, and statement of purpose. Your visa document will be prepared using the information provided, therefore, all information must match your passport exactly as it appears.
 
For the statement of purpose, briefly describe your academic and personal goals, reasons for applying to this program, study interests and preparation, and other aspects that may support your background interests and performance. 1-3 pages at the most.

Transcript

One copy of your official Bachelor's transcript in English or Chinese with notarization* 
  3 Personal Profile & Statement of Purpose
The personal profile format and statement of purpose are included in the application form. If needed, you may attach an additional CV, including your education, GPA, achievements, work experience (if any), and other relevant experiences. In the Statement of Purpose, you are encouraged to provide a brief instroduction, motivation of choosing the ISICP, study plan, and future plan. 
  4 Recommendation Letters
Two recommendation letters must be written in English and signed by your recommenders. Each letter should include the recommender’s contact information. Useful content may include:
  • The recommender's name, position, and institution.
  • The length of time and the context in which they have known the applicant.
  • An assessment of the applicant’s academic abilities or potential to succeed in the program applied for.
  • Any other relevant information that may support the application.
  5 Language Certificate (English)
To study in Taiwan, a language certification is required for a VISA application. The program offers English courses and Chinese courses. Students must demonstrate a satisfactory level of English language proficiency in CEFR B2 (TOEFL iBT 79/IELTS 6.0, and above or equivalent).
  6 Copy of your Degree Diploma One copy of your official Bachelor's degree diploma in English or Chinese with notarization.*

Copy of Passport

Please provide a document that verifies your nationality or a copy of your passport.
  8 Financial Certificate 
Although the admitted students will be awarded scholarships for two academic years, all applicants are still required to provide either an official English bank statement or proof of scholarship that shows their financial sustainability for study in Taiwan in case of the need for any possible expenses. Applicants must download the “Certification of Financial Responsibility” and submit it online. The bank statement(s) should be dated within the last 3 months from a financial institution. If the currency is not in TWD or USD, please note the exchange rate and conversion of the total amount in TWD or USD.

Declaration Forms 

Print the declaration forms, review the content, and sign the forms.
  10 Other Supporting Documents
You may include any supporting documents in English, including GRE, CV, resume, etc. 

 

   
 

Admission decisions will be sent via email.

*Notarized diploma and transcript:
If the foreign academic credentials (diploma and transcript) are not in Chinese or English, the Chinese or English translations are required to be notarized by the Taiwan Overseas Representative Offices. Documents (diploma and transcript) issued by the university in Taiwan do not need to be notarized. For more details, please refer to the MOE website.

Admitted international students must submit the original diploma and complete transcript, verified by the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in the country where their graduating school is located, before the registration day in September 2026 to be eligible for enrollment at NTHU. If the required documents cannot be submitted by the deadline, please inform us in advance. NTHU reserves the right to revoke admission.
